3D GEM 2023 event a successful meet for education, research and exploring business in 3d printing & 3d visualisation

3D Graphy Engineering & Medical (3DGEM) 2023 Event was held over two days on 9th and 10 December at VMCC Auditorium, IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai. It brought together 3D Technology Visionaries, Researchers, Scientist, Armed Forces Officers, Doctors, Dentists, Surgeons, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts from the fields of engineering and medicine to discuss 3D printing and related technologies. The event was supported by National Centre for Additive Manufacturing an intuitional body of the  Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India. Main theme of the event was “Democratising 3D Technology with Education & Research to benefit all”.   3DGEM 2023 had four important activities:  Conference, Poster Presentation, Exhibition & Awards.  On the first day the sessions where dedicated to Engineering & Industrial Manufacturing while on the second day Dental, Neuro, Orthopaedic, Cardiology, Medical Devices, Orthotics & Prosthetics, Pharma, Tissue Engineering were the areas of deliberations.

 

The Chief Guest of the event on 9 Dec 23 was Air Marshall C R Mohan,  AVSM, VSM, AOM, Air Head Quarter, New Delhi,  while on 10 Dec 23 Chief Guest of the event was Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin , VSM , DGMS (Navy) , Naval Headquarters , New Delhi. Notable Keynote speakers were Dr. Sankha Dip Das, Scientist D, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Shri. Jaspreet Sidhu - Chief Executive Officer, NCAM – National Centre for Additive Manufacturing, Chief Patron  Prof. K V Rao,  Deputy Director (FEA), IIT Bombay, Dr. Girish Rao, Secretary General, Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons of India, Dr. Aratatran Patra, National Secretary, Orthotics & Prosthetics Association of India, Dr. Hemanshu Mehta, President, Indian Society of Oral Implantologists, and Mr. Sushant Banerji, Founder, Orthotech India Pvt Ltd.

 

The event showcased a dynamic mix of eminent  speakers from all the diverse sectors , both 3D technology service providers and end users from DRDO, Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Airforce,  Indian Institute of Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Hyderabad, Civil Engineering Companies, OEM’s, Architecture Consultants, Aeronautical Society of India, Ship Builders, MRO Association of India, Doctors, Surgeons, 3D manufacturers, Oral Implantologist , Orthotics & Prosthetics professionals , Aerospace & Defence Consultants of India, Drone manufacturers and others. Key Takeaways of the Event included innovative, cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly between engineering and medical professionals.
